BIMsystems and INCONY - with BIM and PIM for efficient product data management

With its technology-leading PIM system, the company INCONY offers the ideal prerequisite for companies to maintain their product information centrally and efficiently. The BIM expert BIMsystems enables by means of its cloud-based BIM solution construction suppliers a platform to offer their products to planners and architects BIM-compliant. Through the collaborative partnership of BIMsystems and INCONY, future-oriented opportunities for digitized construction planning arise for component manufacturers as well as planners.

Digital transformation is no longer a dream of the future! We are right in the middle of it! At the same time, the construction industry is under increasing pressure to adapt to the new work requirements of the market and to jump on the digitalization bandwagon.

A flagship digital development influencing construction planning is Building Information Modeling (BIM for short). All parties involved in the construction project face the challenge of digitizing their construction processes. Due to the infinite product data and their various data statuses, it is up to manufacturers and dealers to restructure and organize data as digitization and networking increase.

The link between PIM and BIM - the key to digital product data management in the construction sector

INCONY and BIMsystems support and revolutionize the construction industry in partnership! With INCONY's PIM system, manufacturers can more efficiently maintain their product data (PIM = Product Information Management) and make it available to planners and architects via interfaces to BIM Systems' BIM solution.

BIM enables optimized planning, realization and management of buildings with the help of software solutions. Relevant product data for construction planning and building management are made available and networked with each other. This digitized organization places demands on the structure, content and availability of product data. Digitized product data management is required to ensure high quality, transparency and homogenization of product data.

Component manufacturers maintain their product information in a PIM system and thus generate BIM-capable data, among other things. This generation of BIM content can be implemented in just a few steps: Product data is imported from ANTEROS into linya via Excel export. In linya, BIM content is generated from this and refined by further settings, such as rules and logics. The finished BIM content is then published in waya - the platform for presenting the BIM content.

The PIM system stores product-related information in a media-neutral manner and centrally in a database, so that it can only be entered once, enriched and output multiple times. This means that the data is stored centrally and always up-to-date and complete in one place, the "single point of truth". With a BIM export, INCONY customers will in future be able to transfer specific products to waya from BIMsystems and thus make their products available to planners and architects directly from PIM in BIM format. There is a one-time BIM connection to the BIMsystems solutions and the BIM content is automatically updated. The result: A digitized storage of construction information in high quality by means of the planning method BIM!

Many years of experience come together at INCONY and BIMsystems

INCONY AG has been active in the PIM sector for more than 20 years, making it one of the few PIM pioneers, and has gained deep experience with companies in various industries over the many years. From the beginning, the focus was on technical industries, where product data is usually structured in an even more complex way, and the construction industry and its suppliers were among the first INCONY projects. INCONY's PIM system, called ANTEROS, has corresponding functions that enable efficient maintenance and use of product data of technical industries. In recent months, the need for BIM data among INCONY customers has grown, so INCONY looked for a competent partner for a technology partnership and found it in BIMsystems.

For several years now, BIMsystems has been offering a wide range of BIM solutions for the digitization of product data (BIM content), the networking of interfaces, and the unhindered exchange of data along the value chain. With its waya system, BIMsystems creates a BIM infrastructure for all parties involved in a construction project. Not only is product data (BIM content) made available in this infrastructure, but all other information relevant to the project is also stored. Here, manufacturers specifically store their products as BIM models and planners and architects can download the models for various CAD systems and integrate them into their drawings.

DBy connecting the two systems, manufacturers automatically learn in their PIM system how the BIM content they provide is used. "BIMsystems and INCONY are working together to ensure a digital future for component manufacturers with maximum transparency between the two systems," said Gregor Müller, CEO BIMsystems. In partnership, they are working on an all-round worry-free package for digitized product data management!
